Code8's website suffered under the weight of several technical issues that were impacting overall user experience. The site also needed several design improvements to enhance the visual aesthetic.

To meet short and longer term business objectives, it was critical that Code8’s online customer experience aligned with the company's positioning as a luxury brand.

Magecom first resolved the technical issues that were degrading Code8's user experience, tackling a range of functional bugs to smooth out the purchase journey and better align with their brand positioning.

Once the site was stablized technically, we focused on several aesthetic improvements to elevate the overall look and feel of the site, while adhering to Code 8's current growth trajectory and constraints.

Content management best practices

The challenge

The configuration of Code8’s content management system was less than optimal, resulting in poor performance, and impacting both user experience and operational efficiency. For example, the site relied upon third-party integrations for image and banner management through JavaScript and APIs, and several more suboptimal configurations.

Our solution

Magecom simplified Code8’s content management configuration by removing unneeded components, reducing complexity where possible, and implementing a playbook of best practices.

A more seamless shopping experience on the frontend, and increased effciency in managing content and promotions on the backend, resulted in an overall increase in sales and decrease in costs.

Code8’s brand is built upon the idea of clients putting their "best face forward." Fundamental to the process is the abilty to easily discover and purchase products that are a perfect fit for each, individual client.

To acheive this, Code8 needed a product finder that addressed the unique needs of each client's personal skin tone, in order to sell more.

Our solution

Magecom developed a custom product matching feature that allowed customers to find products based on their chosen skin tone.

The feature provided results not only for the target product, but for recommended and complementary products, too. For example, a customer ordering foundation would also receive recommendations for additional products, like powder or concealer, in their same shade.

Our solution ultimately enhanced Code 8's customer experience to drive engagement and loyalty, and to grow average order value through cross-selling.
