From their beginnings as a local screen-printing and promotional products company, Sportex Safety transformed their business, through deep design and platform expertise, into a vertically-integrated manufacturer serving a range of B2B corporate clients, including some of the largest construction companies in the US.

Over the years, the company brought their manufacturing capabilites in-house, to become a one-stop-shop for design, manufacturing, and fulfillment. Providing embroidery, screen printing, engraving, and large-format printing, Sportex carved out a niche in the PPE and branded apparel space, enabling both B2C and B2B clients.

The challenge

A key to their expansion over the years was Sportex Safety’s custom storefront engine, built on Magento 1, that allowed clients to spin up branded company stores with zero inventory.

The system became a powerful tool for B2B sales and growth, opening doors to large corporate clients by offering personalized ordering portals, complete with on-demand branding, flexible design options, and seamless order fulfillment.

However, as their platform aged, and with Magento 1 reaching its end of life, it became clear that the system could no longer scale to meet increasing demand, or support the speed and complexity required by enterprise clients.

Magecom implemented a platform approach that supported both B2B and B2C experiences, adapted in real time to client demand, and served as a revenue enabler for future growth and scaling.

To ensure success, we rebuilt the storefront engine from the ground up, using Magento 2 as the foundation for seamless order processing, product management, and client interaction.

Magecom worked closely with Sportex’s internal teams to understand their unique workflows and customer lifecycle to ensure both data accuracy and business continuity throughout the migration.

NetSuite is home to all the master data driving Sportex Safety’s business. Their NetSuite instance manages thousands of SKUs from dozens of vendors, making it essential that product data flow cleanly and accurately across all systems.

Magecom helped Sportex structure their product information to optimize data integrity and system performance, empowering NetSuite, as the system of record, to push clean, validated data to Magento, and enabling storefront views for dozens of individual company stores.
